The overarching research question in my doctoral research study is: In what ways can new insights into student mathematical resilience inform an operational and reliable tool to measure middle year students’ mathematical resilience and can this be used to inform teacher practice?
In this short communication, I will:
* share key findings from my literature review on student mathematical resilience
* outline the methodological approach guiding this research
* seek expert feedback to ensure alignment with contemporary goals and visions in mathematics education.
