MERGA invites you to join or renew your membership to our community of educators and researchers interested in improving the conditions and opportunities to learn mathematics.

- Membership is valid until February 28 each year. Only one person gains the benefits of this membership. We do not offer an institutional / organisational membership. We no longer offer library subscriptions.
Types of Membership
Academics & Educators:
The fee for timely renewal before February 28 is $200. After this date, the membership fee is $220 (for individuals employed more than 0.5FTE).
Student Members/Part-time Academics & Educators:
The fee for timely renewal before February 28 is $95. After this date, the membership fee is $104.50 (for students and those employed 0.5FTE or less).
Retired Members:
The fee for timely renewal before February 28 is $95. After this date, the membership fee is $104.50 (for retired community members).
Developing Country Members:
The fee for timely renewal before February 28 is $95. After this date, the membership fee is $104.50 (for those who are citizens of, and permanently living in, a developing country).

You are in the right place! Simply click Join Here and follow the prompts to get started. Select your level of membership, input your payment details and discount code (if applicable) and you will receive an email with your tax invoice and membership details.
Log in to your account with your username and password above, then select Renew under My Memberships. Choose your new level of membership, then follow the prompts to input your payment details and discount code (if applicable) at checkout. You will receive an email with your tax invoice and new membership details.
Changes to existing levels of membership can be completed during the renewal period (November 28–Feb 28 each year). Simply follow the renewal process as above ensuring you select the new membership level you would like to change to.
Our Members’ Area is accessible once you purchase a membership, and can be found under the Membership tab once you are logged in.
Here, you will find our current news and information including our Social Media pages, AGM minutes and financial reports, open access to MERJ as well as videos posted from our MERGA YouTube account and our Member Search directory.
Log in to your MERGA account by selecting either Login at the top right of the website, or go to the Membership tab and enter your username and password.
If you have forgotten your password, click on Lost your password? above and follow the prompts for a password reset, or contact admin@merga.net.au and we can assist further.
Once logged in, you can change your password at anytime by selecting Change Password under My Account. For added security ensure it remains at least 12 characters long, using upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols such as: ! ” ? $ % ^ & ).
Log in to your account above with your username and password, hover over your name in the top right corner and select My Account. Choose Edit Profile to view and update all personal details including Display Name, Email Address, Title, Contact Details and Social Media Links.
Once you are logged in to your membership account, select Orders from the My Account section. Here, you can access previous membership payment orders and print or save as a PDF file.
A Tax Invoice is emailed to you directly upon payment of your membership. Please note Orders are not listed as Tax Invoices.
As with changing or updating your personal information, log in to your account with your username and password, hover over your name in the top right corner and select My Account. Choose Edit Profile then scroll down to the below sections to add your information. This provides other members with up-to-date information when using the Members’ Search, and also allows MERGA to ensure we are providing valuable information and events tailored to our members’ interests.

At MERGA we welcome Early Career Researchers and encourage you to let us know by updating your Additional Information under My Account to select the corresponding box.

Absolutely. While we encourage members to subscribe to our newsletters to keep up-to-date with the latest news and events throughout the industry, we have two ways you can opt-out if this is no longer appropriate for you:
- Hit Unsubscribe on the latest edition of MERGA News; or
- Update your preferences under Additional Information in the My Account section of your profile, and select the check box to opt-out of newsletters.
MERGA now uses Mailerlite to distribute our monthly newsletters and special announcements to keep members informed and up-to-date.
To access previous editions of the newsletter simply click on MERGA News (ensure you are logged in) or go to the last section of the latest newsletter.
Of course! While MERGA provides a membership directory as part of our Constitution, we understand there may be members who wish to opt-out.
Simply log in to your account and select Edit Profile under My Account. Scroll down to the last section and you will see a check box with the option Hide from Member Directory. Ensure this is checked and select Update Profile to save your changes.
