Abstract
This paper reports on the
qualitative data gathered during
the initial phases of a longitudinal
investigation into the attitudes of
preservice primary teachers
towards mathematics and toward
the teaching of this subject. It
provides a more wholistic
perspective on the change process
by employing multiple data
gathering techniques, thus
allowing the researchers to focus on
the underlying reasons for
attitudinal shifts.
