MERGA's Publications
The Mathematics Education Research Journal (MERJ) has been published by MERGA since 1989. The journal seeks to promote high quality research that is of interest to the Australasian and international community. It seeks to present research that promotes new knowledge, ideas, methodologies and epistemologies in the field of mathematics education.
The Mathematics Teacher Education and Development Journal (MTED) has been published continuously by MERGA since 1999. It is a free-access online, international refereed journal which provides a stimulating collection of articles with a focus on mathematics teacher education in the broader sense.
Research in Mathematics Education in Australasia (RiMEA) is published every four years. MERGA members prepare a critical review of overview of mathematics education research in Australasia and publish it as an edited book with Springer.
MERGA has a strong tradition of sharing current research and ideas from its annual conference to a wider audience, through publication of the Conference Proceedings.
Quick Reads are one-page extended abstracts of conference papers presented at MERGA conferences. They provide readers with a quick overview of the nature of research papers presented at the conference and present the diverse interests of the MERGA community.
Teacher Reads are one-page extended abstracts of conference papers presented at MERGA conferences. These abstracts disseminate aspects of research that is meaningful to teachers, such as mathematical tasks, assessment tools, strategies for teaching, considerations for student learning, and findings of research that may impact classroom practice.
