Abstract
This paper continues a long term investigation into students’ views about and attitudes toward
the learning of mathematics within a technologically rich classroom environment. The data was
sourced via a series of questionnaires that focused on the role of technology in student/student
and teacher/student interactions within this environment and, in particular, the collaborative
aspects of these interactions. The advantages/disadvantages of technology in investigating
novel mathematical problems were also explored. Links are drawn between the results of this
survey and earlier work which developed categories of students’ use of technology.
